Within our communities we see gambling such as casinos, slot machines, and lottery tickets. We also see claw machines, but did you know that claw machines are gambling? Gambling is where a prize is played for, but isn’t guaranteed, just like a claw machine. We let kids play and play, but we never stop to really think about it. Claw machines are the same as a slot machine, just targeted at a younger audience. Kids will ask their parents for more and more money to try to win that one plushie that they really want just like an adult putting more and more money in a slot machine hoping to win a jackpot. We must become more aware of gambling targeted at children because that is where gambling issues can originate.
